About This Class
Take your free‑motion quilting to the next level. In this advanced class, you’ll learn how to create and combine designs with confidence, improve your control of the longarm, and explore new ways to add texture and movement to your quilts.
We’ll cover border ideas, motifs, background fills, and how to “draw” with the longarm to create custom, expressive quilting designs.

Instructor
Cole Whitaker — QuiltCon 2024 Award Winner
Cole has been drawing, sewing, and designing since childhood, and his creative approach to quilting has earned national recognition—including a Second Place award for his Joy quilt at QuiltCon 2024. He specializes in pixel quilts, foundation paper‑piecing design, and both free‑motion and ruler‑work quilting on longarm and domestic machines. Cole brings a thoughtful, encouraging teaching style to every class and loves helping quilters build confidence through hands‑on exploration and skill‑building. He currently designs custom quilts and works as a professional longarmer.
