Beginner Wool Appliqué – Honeycomb Bee Bag
Ready to dive into the world of wool appliqué? Join Lisa Mortell at Quilting Mayhem for this fun and beginner-friendly class, where you’ll create the charming Honeycomb Bee Bag. Lisa will guide you step by step through the basics of wool appliqué and teach you six versatile embroidery stitches to bring your project to life.
Whether you’re brand new to stitching or looking to brush up on your skills, this is the perfect place to start your wool appliqué journey!
Please Note:
Class fee does not include supplies. Each student will need to purchase the pattern directly from Lisa ($10) on the day of class (if you are bringing your own supplies).
Two optional kits available for purchase:
- Basic Kit: Includes the pattern, wool, and other fabrics needed to make your bag (bring your own threads) ($52)
- Deluxe Kit: Includes everything in the Basic Kit, plus a coordinated thread kit ($72)
When registering, please indicate which kit option you'd like so Lisa can bring enough patterns and materials for everyone.

Class Cancellation Policy: To receive a refund or credit for a class, cancellation must occur 7 days prior to class date.
Don't let this class get cancelled! We have a minimum student requirement of 10 students per class. If this isn't met one week prior to the start of class, the class may be cancelled.
Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: This is a beginner wool applique class, but all skill levels are welcome!
Instructor: Lisa Mortell
Instructor Bio: In 2010, Lisa Mortell discovered her passion for quilting through a Kaffe Fassett book, and by the time she completed her first quilt, she was completely hooked. Over the past fourteen years, her quilting journey has evolved significantly, with a deepening love for wool appliqué and embroidery taking center stage. Lisa began teaching quilting six years ago, including wool appliqué, embroidery, and needle-turn appliqué. Her recent works draw inspiration from the natural beauty of her Pacific Northwest roots.
