Did you know you can quilt a full quilt without a longarm? This beginner‑friendly class teaches you how to free‑motion quilt on your own domestic machine. You’ll learn how to prep your quilt sandwich, how to comfortably maneuver your quilt while stitching, and the essential tools, tricks, and starter designs that build confidence and control.

This class requires a minimum of 6 students to run. If we’re below that number one week before class, the session may be cancelled. Early registration makes a big difference.
Instructor
Cole Whitaker — QuiltCon 2024 Award Winner
Cole has been drawing, sewing, and designing since childhood, and his creative approach to quilting has earned national recognition—including a Second‑Place award for his Joy quilt at QuiltCon 2024. He specializes in pixel quilts, foundation paper‑piecing design, and both free‑motion and ruler‑work quilting on longarm and domestic machines. Cole brings a thoughtful, encouraging teaching style to every class and loves helping quilters build confidence through hands‑on exploration and skill‑building. He currently designs custom quilts and works as a professional longarmer.
