About This Class
Give your quilt the finish it deserves. In this hands‑on workshop, you’ll bring a quilted project that’s ready for binding and learn how to create a clean, confident finish using simple machine techniques. We’ll walk through quilt math, straight of grain and bias binding, how to choose the right fabric for your project, and how to attach and finish your binding by machine or by hand. Whether you’re brand new to binding or just want a refresher, you’ll leave class with new skills, helpful tips, and a beautifully finished quilt edge you can be proud of.
What We’ll Cover
Learn the essential steps for creating a polished quilt binding using straightforward machine techniques.
- How to measure your quilt and calculate binding length
- Straight of grain and bias binding
- Cutting, joining, pressing, attaching, and finishing your binding

Class Cancellation Policy: To receive a refund or credit for a class, cancellation must occur 7 days prior to class date.

This class needs a minimum of 3 students to run.
If we’re below that number one week before class, the session may be cancelled.

Instructor
Kim Andersen
Kim has been part of the Quilting Mayhem family for several years and is passionate about quilting. Foundation Paper Piecing is one of her favorite techniques, and she teaches multiple FPP classes at QM. Kim has an approachable, friendly manner and loves encouraging and supporting students with their quilting, binding, sewing, EPP, and FPP projects.
