SKILL LEVEL:
Adventurous Beginner — confident with knit and purl and ready to build new skills
The Stick Season Sweater Workshop is designed for knitters who are ready to take the leap into garment making or want to level up from a simple first sweater. Over three sessions, you’ll work through a modern drop‑shoulder pullover that blends classic structure with approachable techniques. Whether you choose the clean stockinette version or add the textured details, you’ll build confidence step by step with guidance from an instructor who loves helping new garment knitters succeed.
What We’ll Cover
This workshop focuses on making sweater knitting feel clear, doable, and genuinely fun. You’ll learn how to read and follow a garment pattern, shape a drop‑shoulder silhouette, and work through the construction of the Stick Season Sweater by Rebecca Clow. Adventurous beginners can explore the textured yoke and faux‑seam details, while first‑time sweater knitters can stick with smooth stockinette for a friendly introduction to garment making.

Instructor
Lauren Selby Lauren learned to knit as a child and rediscovered her love for the craft when she made her first sweater in early 2024. Since then, she has explored everything from simple silhouettes to textured fabrics and colorwork, and has test knitted for designers including Sari Nordlund and Rebecca Clow. Lauren enjoys welcoming new knitters into the world of garment making and believes sweaters are far more approachable than they appear. Once you can knit and purl, you’re ready to create something you’ll be proud to wear.
