Lewes Lines by Laureen Smith of Tourmaline & Thyme Quilts
Lewes, Delaware is one of those towns that makes you slow down. The old fishing village is still in there — you can see it in the angles of the wooden buildings, the lines of the shingled rooftops, the way light and shadow play across weathered siding. It’s a place that’s been gentrified but not erased, and that tension between old and new is exactly what this quilt is about.
Lewes Lines takes that architectural geometry and translates it into two alternating blocks — each one built from triangles that echo those rooflines and lean into the diagonal. Northcott’s Gatsby collection, in its sophisticated palette of cream, taupe, and black, does the rest.
Modern structure. Historic soul.

"I love this place. Lighting is excellent, so I can really see the fabric colors and quality. The employees have always been so helpful and a rich source of ideas. Highly recommend how they create a great place to rent equipment, get ideas and help, and find beautiful fabric."
