About This Class

Give your child a fun, hands-on introduction to sewing! This beginner-friendly class is designed to help young makers feel confident using a sewing machine while creating three useful projects they’ll be excited to take home. With patient guidance and plenty of encouragement, students will explore the basics of sewing in a supportive, kid-focused environment.

What We’ll Cover

Throughout the day, students will practice essential sewing skills and learn how to safely use tools, follow simple instructions, and complete beginner projects with pride.

Safely and confidently use a sewing machine
Cut fabric accurately and use basic sewing tools
Sew straight seams, corners, and simple shapes
Measure and follow beginner-friendly pattern instructions
Add simple finishing touches for polished results

Projects:
1. Fabric Coaster – A perfect first project for practicing straight seams, corners, and turning.
2. Cinch Sac / Drawstring Backpack – A simple, functional bag great for carrying small items.
3. Book Cover – A ready-for-school fabric cover to protect a favorite book or classroom text.

Class Cancellation Policy: To receive a refund or credit for a class, cancellation must occur 7 days prior to class date.

This class needs a minimum of 4 students to run. If we’re below that number one week before class, the session may be cancelled. Early registration makes a big difference.
