SKILL LEVEL:

This class is designed for experienced Baby Lock Triumph owners who are already comfortable operating their machine. Students should be confident changing needles, threading the serger, and switching out presser feet. This is not a beginner‑level owners class.

Students should bring the following basic sewing supplies:

• Sharp fabric scissors
• Erasable fabric marker
• Wonder Clips
• Bamboo Stiletto
• Seam ripper
• Rotary cutter with new blade
• 6" x 24" ruler

Join Barb Lewis for an advanced, technique‑rich Baby Lock Triumph serger event designed for owners who are ready to take their skills to the next level. In this one‑day creative workshop, you’ll explore decorative stitches, specialty feet, and precision finishing methods while making a beautiful floral pillow project that showcases the artistry only a Triumph can deliver. This class is ideal for students already comfortable threading, changing needles, and operating their machine.

What We’ll Cover

• Wave Stitch techniques for decorative edges and accents
• Rolled hems for crisp, polished finishes
• Serger crochet for dimensional, textured embellishment
• Double fold bias binding using the 36mm binder
• Piping techniques for professional structure and detail
• Serger appliqué for layered floral elements
• Gathering methods for controlled texture
• Flatlock stitching for decorative and functional seams
• Creating belt loops and narrow structural details
• Hands‑on use of specialty Triumph feet: Shirring Foot, Clear Foot, Cording Foot, Double Fold Bias Binder, and Lace Applicator Foot
• Stitching with Wave Stitch, Rolled Hem, Triple Cover Stitch, Narrow Cover Stitch, Center Chain Stitch, 4‑Thread Overlock, and Flatlock

Instructor

Barb Lewis
Barb has been creating since she was young — from gluing rocks into tiny boxes to sculpting clay creatures and building dollhouse furniture. Once 4‑H introduced her to sewing, she found her true passion. She loves making bags, pillows, and quilts, especially when she gets to mix fabrics, design new patterns, or play with doodle appliqué. Her creativity spans many mediums, but sewing is where her ideas really take flight.

For the past 12 years, Barb has shared that enthusiasm as a sewing instructor and Baby Lock Educator, traveling the country to teach and inspire makers of all levels. She’s known for helping students gain confidence, try new techniques, and enjoy the process of creating. Barb is a mom of eight, grandma of twenty, and lives in a beautiful mountain valley in Utah.
