Design an FPP Pattern from a Picture

(TIP: This is a two-part class)

Want to make something different than your average quilt? Come learn how to create a quilt foundation-paper-piecing pattern from almost any picture.

You will learn how to use a picture to draw a digital pattern on Inkscape. Illustration skills are not required but a good eye for design is very helpful.

We will go over how to use basic functions in Inkscape (no knowledge required), how to decide what details of the picture to keep and when to simplify, and how to decide how to sew it.

The first class will cover drawing a block. The second class will cover planning a whole quilt.

Inkscape is a FREE download and is widely used. Here's the link:

https://inkscape.org/release/inkscape-1.2.2/  Please make sure you download the most recent version of this software.

Basic foundation paper piecing knowledge is necessary.

Please bring a laptop (Mac or PC) or tablet (not an iPad) with Inkscape already downloaded to the first class. Basic computer skills are required.

You will not be sewing in class. All you need is a laptop (see above).
