This workshop uses the Solarium pattern and the Quick Straight Ruler™ — both are required.

About This Class

The Solarium quilt features a fresh combination of star blocks and compass blocks that create the illusion of overlapping shapes throughout the quilt. The design is anchored by square‑in‑square units and 16‑patch blocks, giving the quilt structure, movement, and a striking modern feel.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to use the Quick Straight Ruler™ to achieve clean, accurate angles while building the Solarium blocks. Norma will guide you through block construction, layout strategies, pressing tips, and how to maintain the layered, dimensional effect that makes this pattern shine.

Whether you choose bold contrasts or soft gradients, Solarium is a rewarding project that blends precision piecing with a visually dynamic design.
