About This Class
Ready to finally feel confident with your Pro‑Stitcher? This 4‑week virtual series is designed to help you understand the tools, techniques, and workflow behind computerized quilting — whether you’re brand‑new or looking to strengthen your foundation.
Handi Quilter Educator Marla Simms will guide you step‑by‑step through the essentials: navigating the interface, placing and modifying designs, working with edge‑to‑edge layouts, and building efficient quilting paths. Each session includes demonstrations, practical tips, and time for your questions so you can grow your skills week by week.
You’ll receive a Zoom link directly from Marla before each class, plus access to the class recording within 48 hours — perfect for reviewing or catching up on anything you missed.

Class Prep Requirements
A Windows laptop (Windows 7 or later) with the Pro‑Stitcher Simulator downloaded before class begins.
The simulator does not work on Mac laptops.
Please do not detach your Pro‑Stitcher tablet from your longarm — bring your laptop with the simulator installed.
Please note: class time cannot be used for downloads — thank you for coming prepared!

Timing may vary slightly depending on student needs.
Class Cancellation Policy: To receive a refund or credit for a class, cancellation must occur 7 days prior to class date.
Help us keep this class on the calendar! This class needs a minimum of 5 students to run. If we’re below that number one week before class, the session may be cancelled. Early registration makes a big difference.
Instructor
Marla Simms Marla is a National Educator for Handi Quilter with more than four decades of teaching experience across movement, bodywork, and quilting. She discovered quilting after a career in dance and massage therapy, quickly diving into both piecing and longarm work.
During her years at Quilting Mayhem, Marla has taught longarm basics, Pro‑Stitcher classes, and one‑on‑one sessions for new machine owners. She brings energy, humor, and clear, confidence‑building instruction to every class.
Marla now lives in Bunker Hill, Illinois, where she runs her in‑home longarm quilting studio. Outside the studio, she enjoys life with her husband and their two cats.
