About This Class
Sashiko is a beautiful Japanese mending technique that transforms worn or damaged garments into something stylish and new. In this 2‑hour hands‑on workshop, fiber artist and author Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ will guide you through the basics of visible mending using the running stitch and traditional geometric patterns. You’ll learn how to reinforce clothing with patches, create your own stitch designs, and give your garments a second life with handmade charm.

Class Cancellation Policy: To receive a refund or credit for a class, cancellation must occur 7 days prior to class date.
Help us keep this class on the calendar! This class needs a minimum of 6 students to run. If we’re below that number one week before class, the session may be cancelled. Early registration makes a big difference.

Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ Melissa Galbraith is the fiber artist behind MCreativeJ. Born and raised in the desert of Washington state, she learned to love handmade creativity from her mother at an early age. Now a full‑time artist, Melissa is known for her playful use of texture and pattern in embroidery. For her, stitching is like coloring with needle and thread—an inviting, joyful way to bring art to life.
