Longarming 201
This class is for people who have taken Longarm 101 and would like to increase their longarm skills. We will focus on free motion, ruler work, and how to combine the two to create interesting designs.
You must be trained on the Amara longarm machine to take this class. Do that by taking Longarm 101, this class’s pre-requisite. If you have not yet taken Longarm 101 but want to do so in order to participate in this class, and have no intention of renting our Amara longarm at the shop in the future, please see a Machine Associate for details and to get signed up for Longarm 101.
No need to bring a quilt sandwich. Those are provided. And you get to take yours home at the end of class and admire your work of art!
BONUS: Get a FREE Handi Quilter VersaTool Ruler as part of your class fee. Cole will show you how to use it in class and provide time for you to play with it.
Pre-requisite: Longarm 101
Supplies needed: Note-taking supplies, cell phone for photos, thread snips.
There will be a half-hour break for lunch so be sure to bring a sack lunch.

| Instructor Bio: | Cole Whitaker has been drawing and sewing clothing and quilts since he was a child but, unfortunately, he left behind most of these hobbies when he started a career as a cosmetology teacher. He later studied art at Cornish College of the Arts and worked as a graphic designer and photographer. A few years ago, Cole took a step back to take care of his health. During that time of healing, he has worked on his M.S. in psychology. He also returned to his quilting roots, which has been very therapeutic for him. Cole is excited to teach quilting, including pixel quilts, designing a FPP pattern from a picture, and free-motion quilting on the longarm and domestic machine. He currently designs custom quilts and is a custom longarmer. |
