This class is virtual, so as long as you're local, you can watch from the comfort of your own home or choose to come into the shop for the class. You must be local in order to participate, per Kimberbell's rules.
Join Lori as she gives you tips on each of the four projects this month. We're revisiting the past four years of Kimberbell's Dealer Exclusives, so if you missed any designs, now is the time to get them!
This class will be taught via GoToMeeting (similar to Zoom) so it's easy to participate and interact. It's also recorded so you can watch it at anytime. Bring your USB stick to class to get the designs OR drop off your USB stick before class so the designs can be put on it. Be sure to leave the stick to Lori's attention and note which format you need.
Lemonade Mug Rug With fabric and vinyl applique, you'll create a lemonade glass that's always half full. Stitch the quilted pennant background in a contrasting color for celebration or blend with the background fabric to emphasize the drink and slice of citrus garnishing the cup, like our cherry cola with lime. You'll find this mouthwatering design delish for an entire mixology of sodas. (see photo above)
Cute and Crabby Towel Set Crabby by definition means bad tempered, grouchy, or cross, but our cute crabs are completely cordial. Choose one design for a hand towel and the other for the bath towel. With creative applique work and stitched broad smiles, these happy crabbers will have you smiling right back.
Redwork Pin Cushion Redwork is the original word for outline embroidery hand sewn with Turkey red thread in the late 1800s, but the name is still used today to describe outline needlework in any color. Choose a snowflake or flower for this petite pin cushion, then let your embroidery machine get the stitches just right. Instructions for a simple muslin insert are included. Fill the insert with ground walnut shells to keep the pins and needles sharp.
Baby Is Sleeping Trapunto Pillow From the Italian word for "quilt," trapunto is a technique which adds decorative dimension to quilted designs. Use two extra layers of batting and dense lines of quilting to create the trapunto effect for this sweet baby pillow on the embroidery machine. The bottom border of pink or blue is pieced in the hoop to finish the phrase, "...is sleeping." Additional borders with pompom trim and hanging tassels are added on the sewing machine to make a cover for Kimberbell's 9 1/2 x 5 1/2" rectangle pillow form. Place it on the doorknob whenever baby goes down for a nap as a gentle reminder for big brother and sister to play quietly.
