Kelly Ashton joined Handi Quilter as an educator in 2013. As a previous quilt shop owner, Kelly acquired extensive experience teaching applique, piecing, and longarm quilting classes in her shop and at local quilt guilds. Kelly began longarm quilting on an HQ Sixteen in 2007, and then moved to a HQ Avante. She did extensive freehand quilting for her customers, giving her the expertise she loves to share with students today. Next, she added the Pro-Stitcher and fell in love with the precision of the computer combined with freehand quilting. Along with her HQ Avante and Pro-Stitcher, she also quilts with an HQ Infinity and the HQ Sweet Sixteen. Loving all tools and options available for quilting, rulers are her first choice. She loves the precision and professional quilting they provide and has fun filling in with free motion to add texture. Kelly loves to share her love of fabric, textiles, color, and quilting, and to inspire quilters to try new things. See Kelly's quilting on Instagram under Kelly Ashton or gmakellyquilts.
