Jen will show you many different ways to make and use various types of binding. You’ll see how she creates bias binding, miters quilt corners, machine and hand sews the binding on her quilts, and gives fun projects a nice finish. You’ll also receive a fun little kit to get you started!
Jen will showcase these projects during the workshop:
Riverside Tote - joining ends and machine sewing binding in place
Mini Quilt - mitering corners, joining ends, hand sewing binding in place
Vinyl / Mesh - creating double-fold binding and sewing in place
Potholder with hanging loop - creating bias binding
Petit Four Basket - showing how to create and use faux binding
Bring any project you need to bind, and Jen can help get you started in class.
Note - this is more of an instructional workshop than a sew-in class. We will not be working on specific projects, but rather helping you make and use binding for your own projects.
If you are thinking about making any of the “ByAnnie” projects and are unfamiliar with binding, this would be a great place to start!
*If your project doesn’t require a sewing machine, no need to pack it! Bring the supplies you will need for you.
Feel free to email Jen with any questions.
